      Question Web Space

      OK,

I know there is no webspace provision by Sky and that's fine but does anyone know if it is possible to set up a website at home and (perhaps using something like EasyDNS instead of a static IP) serve out a blog or similar across my link?

Obviously I could go create a blog on a blogging site but a home served (and more importantly configured) blog offers me far more control over the way it works.

All of this may be entirely impractical of course but I've never let that get in my way before

      Kyu

You mean...run your own web server from home? No problem provided you have the right software.

      Re: Web Space

Sure it's possible. You'd need to ensure the TTL of your dynamic DNS was set low (60 secs?) to minimise downtime when your IP changes and remember that your upstream is only 416k on Mid. You wouldn't want to be hsting a popular website or large files.
