      Router stats

Hello, I'm new to the forum, and sky broadband.
I moved house out of a cable area so had to give up my 20 meg with virgin media
Anyway i signed up for the lot with sky (tv.phone, internet) and have had it for few weeks now, the internet so far has been my only problem which is a bumer as its what i want most.

      I have:

      1 desktop pc: wireless
      1 laptop: wireless
      1 xbox 360: wired
1 carputer: wireless (in car pc, wireless when on drive)

all of them can be working fine 1 minute then i get alsorts of problems with no conection to the wireless, and i have to switch off my router which sorts it out for maybe a day or 2, or just a minute sometimes. I called sky up 3 times so far and after speaking to a nice liverpool lass she said she will send out a new router, any idea if this will sort the prob? or should i get on to bt about testing the line?
I'm new to internet with a bt line so dont know what to expect.
I posted the stats below from my router, any sign of a problem there? no idea what to look for really

my package is broadband max if that makes any diff, and my local phone exchange is, peacehaven east sussex

      Re: Router stats

first things, wireless isn't really good for gaming so id stay clear of it if you can...

secondly, are you running from your master socket? have you a test socket to try?

speed wise there's not a lot more to be had, having said that you are on gdmt not adsl2+ so id assume your line isn't too great...

EDIT: and change your profile, you're not on Base...

      Re: Router stats

Hi, yeah the router is pluged right in the master socket, its the only phone socket in the house so cant try any others. The only gaming i do is on the xbox 360 which is wired to the router, and i never have had a problem with that yet, but i dont use it very much compared to the internet on the pc.
I also have big problems with my 3 computers swaping files with wi-fi, to me it all points towards the router having a problem with its wireless some how, guess i will know soon once i get my new one. will let you know what happens

      Re: Router stats

are there alot of other wireless networks in your area ? these may be interfering with your signal, have you tried different channels,

also do you have the router next to a dect phone, as this may cause problems

      Re: Router stats

there is quite a few, around 6 plus. and its also next to my bt cordless phone. I could try turning the phone off for a while see if that helps, just so i can rule it out or not

      Re: Router stats

If you have a lot of wireless nets in your vicinity then you may need to go into the router settings and change the channel, this may be a case of hit and miss until you find a channel that the people around you aren't using.
