Sagem remote Management

Hi Just received my Sagem router and I would like to set up the remote management port but the check box is greyed out and cannot be enabled. Has anyone got this working? I have changed the password to a very strong one (>12 chars, upper lower case + alpha numberic)....

It is available in the old routers, but it is possible Sky have disabled it in the new versions as a security measure.

MAD!! It would appear it's a Sky-disabled option see here for the info .... that makes no bloody sense!!

The option is not disabled.

It is not that you can't turn it on but instead cannot turn it off.

I don't know why you would want to enable Remote Management, unless you are not sure what to do and want someone else to configure your router over the internet. Remote Management only gives access to the available router settings, it does not allow access to PCs connected to the router.

If it is on by default and cannot be changed then I would be very annoyed, as this is a bad risk.

You can cover over it by port forwarding Port 80

just forward port 80 to an unused ip and it should prevent access to the remote management from outside your network.
