According to the router you are synched at about 4-5 Mb. Have you rebooted the router? Also are you on the main socket and filters in place?

Yes i have rebooted it several times, its on the main socket, and filters are in place. Why is it only 4-5 mb on max tho?

sagaem router, not sure about more, no firewalls, it just dropped when i was online a week ago, browsing went veryyyy slow. browsing ok now, but download can be a joke. I also have tried on laptop too, so it cant be anything i done on the computers, as my laptop is from america, desktop here, so it cant really get more frustrating to figure out whats wrong.

you're capped at 6Mbps, but with that attenuation you'd not get much more anyway..

having said that, if you think I'm a moron then ignore me...

      The stats show 6144kbps

      @JCx

Your router is syncing happily at 6144kbps with a noise margin slightly higher than default (not sure why IANTE thinks you're capped - he may be right but if so then it's a very light cap).

6144kbps is a little low for your attenuation so you probably have a small amount of noise on your line - nothing that bad though. You're losing about a meg. Undoubtedly if you have line noise it will be generating some line errors and this would have a small impact on your throughput but I think it unlikely that would explain the considerable loss you're seeing.

There are a number of possible reasons for low throughput in relation to sync:
      • wireless problems (not in this case as you're wired)
      • overloaded speedtest servers (try Skyuser's)
      • incorrect TCP/IP settings (run TCPOptimizer)
      • hardware/software problems (probably not in this case as you've tried other devices)
      • router problem (possible but unusual)

      Lastly, Skyuser doesn't condone insults

Re: About half a mb connection on max???

i say it cause 6144 is exactly 6Mbps - so appears to be a cap...might be wrong though

Re: About half a mb connection on max???

ok I'm sorry for calling the sky people a moron, but it doesnlt help, when most of them won't stop disconnecting on the phone, when they dont know how to help, or even try to help. Anyway, so why is the speed to me is about 1.262948Mb/s, then goes down to 0.5 mb's. It nevers gets higher, i used the tcpoptimiser already. Isn't, 6 mb a bit low for the max package? anyway i would love to have the connection a 6 mb, then the speed i have now.

do you get the same speed from the test on my sig? it should give a transfer rate of around 600KB/sec if there's nothing wrong...
