      Move to Sky ?

At the mo i'm with BT and get speeds of around 5.5mb attenuation is 42.0 and snr is hovering around the 12db mark, currently sync at 6432 kbps on adslmax. What i'd like to know is would I receive a much faster speed if I was to move to Sky ADSL2. Anyone any thoughts please.

If you are not getting Max speed from ADSLMAX then it is unlikely it will be any better on ADSL2+ infact ADSL2+ is less tolerate of line errors and problems so if when transfering Sky find that your line is poor they are likely to put you on G.DMT which is similar to ADSLMAX and capped at 8mb.
It might be worth going to Sky on the mid package 8mb and see how thing go, it will be easier to upgrade to SkyMax than to downgrade if you pay for 16mb and only end up with 5mb.

      Re: Move to Sky ?

Hi with your line attentuation sky will not put you onto ASDL . However they will put you on GDMT which is capped at 8mb. This will give you a more solid and reliable connection. Your attentuation is similar to mine, and i manage to get speeds of up to 6mb connected with an ethernet cable. I would imagine that subject to your internal wiring being correct you should get the same.
