on another note, people who call up 'thinking' they know what to do just cause of they've read it here are the most annoying people there are - 'a little knowledge in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing' and all...
I can imagine that is annoying, but they cannot cope with people who do actually know what they are talking about! There are lots of technically minded people who can get their heads around the issues, but when the scripts tell the tech support people that nothing can be done before 10 days is up then it is very hard to get past them and that is very frustrating.

that's just procedure and can't be broken...

and remember, Sky was aimed at the novice user, not hardcore users who want to use their own gear. i agree it needs to be looked at but at present nothing's gonna change...

The script readers in T1 would usually be correct to say nothing can be done for a Connect user until 10 days are up. But and it is a big but, if the user is obviously on the wrong package something should be done immediately, waiting 10 days is nonsense. For one thing, if they wait 10 days before the package is upgraded, the line is going to have to train for another ten days. No one should be expected to accept that.

Sky should be doing a survey of all new Connect customers to ensure that BT has put them on the correct package.

I was in the same boat(in fact I started this thread) I was told I need to wait ten days but had to explain to cts that the cooling off period was 8 days so after threatening to cancel I was put through to cancellations and it all escalated from there......
Anyway after about a weeks worth of emails and phone calls ...btw after 10 at night and before 10 am is the best time to get throught to tier 3 even with an open ticket(of which i ended up with 3!!!!.)
The moral of the story is this.....persevere ...I mean seriously persevere ....phone..email...just generally pester them.....eventually youll talk to someone whos came across your problem and know immediatleywhat to do
2 more days till I get regarded at the exchange!

oh and btw when I get my next sky bill in Ill be claiming my calls to skys o870 numbers because none of this was caused by me

Looks like I might have a similar problem. I'm supposedly signed up to the Max package but I'm lucky if I get approx a 1Mb speed. I did one of those online test, before i found this, and I was getting about 600kb/s download and 400kb/s upload..... when I get back from work I'm going to try getting my router stats...

      ^^^^^^^^^^^^
No, if you are on Max and getting 600/400 it is a completely different problem. This one only effects those on Connect getting 288/288. You should really start your own thread.

There is no problem, but if you post in this thread it just complicates things for other posters and yourself.
