Thanks Iamnottheenemy I have tried everything else....... I mean everything !!! Im assuming you mean getting sky to disconnect me and then set me up again as if I was getting broadband for the first time? they sort of suggested this as a last resort but I wasnt too keen on losing my broadband as I have no backup

no one at tier 1 will have ANY idea what you're on about - and it's prob best to get in touch with BT and see what the product on the line is (if you can) just so someone will know. I'd say order status/provisioning are the best to start with and explain BT have put your line on the wrong product. Someone there might know what you're on about...

Re: I am new to sky and on connect is 288 kbps u/s and d/s normal?

well Iamnotheenemy..... talked to tier 3 (YIPPEE..) who advised against disconnecting and reconnecting as this takes time and may still result in the same speeds

      my 10 days are up
my lines been checked about 3 times
my routers been replaced as have all the filters and cabling

sky have suggested I persevere , I am only paying 5 for connect I have been told that I will be changing over to skys exchange within 4-6 months

one guy at tier 3 even suggested that the speeds are so slow and apparantley frozen because my exchange might actually be in the process of changing to sky as I type!

anyway thanks for the help Iamnottheenemy

if it werent for you and others like you I wouldnt have made so many phonecalls !

Re: I am new to sky and on connect is 288 kbps u/s and d/s normal?

congratulations for getting through to somebody who knows what they are talking about! I went through a load of rigmarole yesterday with tier1, at one point she said "I am just running a test (wish test or something?) and it will take a minute ..... right thats passed, whatever that means"

I am now waiting for tier 2 to call me back in the next 24 hours - I am betting they wont call and I will have to call back, apparently they can put me through to t2 directly then
