Should I change from Connect to Mid?

I've had Connect (5 per month) for about a week now due to the exchange being full when we ordered and have had decent speeds compared to what I had on BT (4-6Mbps but very unstable) to 5088 kbps and I have a ping of around 25ms (bbc). Sky now have space in the exchange and I was wondering whether I should ask them to move me onto Mid or stay on Connect as long as I can, and how would switching affect the latency on my line?

Re: Should I change from Connect to Mid?

If you are on the 5 Connect package, Sky will move you to Mid, whether you want to or not. When they are ready to move you, they will, you don't have to ask, although it can take several weeks in some cases. Your speed will be much the same, but you will not be subject to 'throttling', which you are on Connect. Most users who move from Connect to Mid are more than happy, although there are exceptions.

Thanks for the info, do you know how the switch will affect my ping?

I honestly don't know. High pings have been one of the main criticisms levelled against Sky, maybe someone else can advise whether you are likely to maintain your exceptionally low '25'

My ping went from 24m/s on connect to 40 ish on max. However this has since been reduced to around 30 with alterations to the max delays.
