      Re: Windows XP Share Connection

Why not just set the XBOX up in the router?

      Re: Windows XP Share Connection

You should be able to set the XBOX up as it is wireless within your router.

edit: Found a guide for ICS

XBox Live The Guide : Help and advice plus Xbox games news, chat and more

      And this

      Re: Windows XP Share Connection

The problem is that when you set Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on your PC, Windows forces the PC to use the address 192.168.0.1 - but that happens to be the address of the router as well. This causes all manner of problems. Here's what you need to do:
      1. Make sure ICS is switched off. It has to be switched off in order to access the router
      2. In your preferred web browser, go to http://192.168.0.1 - you should see the router's configuration pages
      3. Click on the LAN IP Setup link in the panel on the left of the page. You'll find it under the Advanced heading.
      4. In the LAN TCP/IP Setup section, change the IP Address to 192.168.0.254 and in the Use Router as DHCP Server section, change the Ending IP Address to 192.168.0.253
      5. Click on the Apply button. You'll lose your connection to the router, because its address has changed. Go to http://192.168.0.253/ to check that you can access the router at that address.
      6. Reboot your PC to get it to acquire the new network settings from the router
      7. Now you can set up ICS
