Have you cancelled BT and has everything been sorted at that end? If so you should lose synch on your line with BT on the cancellation date and then on the 16th you should plug your new Sky router in and that should synch on the 16th anytime between 0001am and midinght on the day.

      Re: Getting Sky BB soon

I migrated from Pipex to sky this week, on the day I was due to go live with sky I simply kept using my pipex connection until it went dead, (lost all net connectivity)

I then plugged in my sky router (sagem V2 I believe) and about 15 - 20 minutes later my sky connection went live and I was connected to the internet once more.

There were NO problems and I have been quite happy so far I am getting a decent download speed (upload not so good but still) have synced at 8 meg constantly and cannot complain at all.

In other words sky did everything right.

if your changing over from BT be sure that you clear all the BT setting from you internet explorer, as this always causes problem, plus give 3 days after you activation date as the line is still stabilizing

Thanks, i don't use Internet Explorer as i think its a waste of a browser i use firefox lol,

And yeah i now what/how to clear a browser and get it all working i just wasn't sure about how to migrate from, one to the other and what kind of procedures i would have to go through.

Not got a problem with download speed, I get anything from a
      WORST case of 4534 kb/s download/230kb/s upload to a
BEST of 8228kb/s download 311kb/s upload although on average its about 6500kb/s download and about 310kb/s upload.

With Pipex my previous isp I was on fixed 2mb service and got 2092kb/s down and 375 kb/s upload so overall I am very happy. The upload speed is noticably slower and as I own and run a Digital Photography VB forum and have to upload patches and other bits and pieces I am aware of it, still I am paying a whole lot less now and although I have had a few teething problems with Sky talk and Sky TV upgrades Sky have been superb on the whole!
