speeds will be much the same and you will more than likly be on Gdmt (ADSL2+ is more suitable for shorter lines)

only difference would be the price i'd imagine

still the only difference is that on the max you have a higher upload (764 i think) and unlimited (FUP) downloads (thought to be around 250gig per month)

if you had taken the mid package (5) upload would around 400 with a download of 40gig per month (but they do not seem to be enforcing this at the moment)

on both above package with your attenuation i would not see you being put on ADSL2+

A line attenuation of 59db would indicate you are some distance from the exchange so you are unlikely to benifit from being on MAX only if you need unlimited downloads. The limit on MID is 40gb per month.

I only like 1.1km in a straght line from the exchange but between my house and the exchane there is a farm so the cable runs around the long way i have been told by a BT network engineer where the cable runs to at it is about 4.6km long,

On BT broadband i use a netgeat dg834gt router and it is connected direct to the master socket which is just the other side of the wall from the gray bt outdoor box and has a adsl face plate aswell but on bt broadband i have never loss my connection it have never droped out at all the line is rock solid.

BT network engineer where the cable runs to at it is about 4.6km long,
that would explain your high attenuation

Well paying sky is lot better than paying BT 18 per month,

I also have a cable NTL VM 20mb line but the speeds are poor on that some times due to STM and the network is oversubscibed,
