You would seem to be capped to stabilise your line if you are on max and limited to 8Mb. Can you post your stats?

      Re: Upload Speeds?

It isn't the exchange that's limiting your speed but your line length (attenuation) and probably line quality looking at your noise margins.

Some problem is allowing your router to sync upstream at only 288kbps/7db i.e your upstream is abnormally low whereas your downstream is fine (other than your noise margin has dropped too low).

      Re: Upload Speeds?

You can't change your line length but you may be able to improve your line condition.

To see what's possible, try a comparison using your test socket (hidden inside your master socket assuming you have a NTE5).

First reboot the router then record the stats. Then, within a few minutes, connect to the test socket (using just a microfilter and the supplied router cable - no extensions/splitters/phone etc) and again record the stats.

      Post both sets.

You can, but your telephone extensions won't work as they are now disconnected! As it appears that they are the cause of the problem look at the cabling and faceplate forum for what may be wrong with the wiring.

Are there any wires connected to the faceplate piece that you have removed to get at the test socket?
