      Question Help

Am currently with orange and am due to change to Sky on 19th. If I connect modem etc now will I lose orange? The letter giving me the date said this might not hapen on the 19th might be a few days after. Don't know when to set up my comp for Sky as I don't want to be without Internet at all if I canhelp it. Not very technical, have you guessed that!

      Re: Help

You don't really need to set up anything. When your Orange connections drops, plug in the Sky router and you should (in theory) be back on line within an hour. Don't use the CD, if you want to install McAfee, explore the CD find the McAfee folder and install it from there.

Not many recommend McAfee, although there are exceptions. If you need an anti-virus program, I would recommend AVG7.5. You want the last one in the column which is free.

I found that Activation took place, the day before the date given by Sky.I just kept plugging in Sky Modem, waiting for 4 lights to appear -- then your are connected to Sky.

      Re: Help

For some people the email and tools pages do not work correctly and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Do you really need a Sky email address, could you not use either Hotmail or Gmail instead both of whom are dead simple to set up and use.

      Re: Help

Okay, how are you logging in to email and tools, what browser are you running, what firewall do you run (if any) and what steps have you tried so far to resolve this?

      Re: Help

Am using windows firewall, opening at Sky homepage clicking onto email and tools and then logging in which is accepted, then I go round in circles but am not connected to e mail. I want to use Outlook Express but can't yet as not connected to sky mail apparently. Hotmail is ok but some sites I am registered with will not accept e mail addresses other than those from and ISP. Getting wound up now!!
