      New number on the line, SKy need to know?

      Hi guys;

      After having a problem with billing and all sorts, I have restarted my BT service, and received a new telephone number.

      Will Sky need to be informed of this new number for broadband to work correctly?

      Please see this topic. Unfortunately, it can't be changed until the broadband stops working.

      Yep you need to tell sky, they will then stop your service on the old number and re-provide it on the new one, it may take a few days to be done though as BT will need to go back into the exchange if the line has physically been changed.

      It will always go back through as a new connection so it'll be 8 working days to get it reconnected, regardless of if the lines changed (unlikely). The cease part of the cease/reprovide ensures that Sky's equipment is disconnected from the line. If you ring them today, they can start the cease but this can take up to 10 days or so to complete at which point you'll lose connection.
