    Just got connected today. Very slow connection

    This is a discussion on Just got connected today. Very slow connection within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; :-si dont wanna unscrew it cuz i might damage it or something...so my BT phone line is my master socket ...

      A good idea, from your questions and answers in your own thread, I don't think you have the competence to mess about with sockets. Wait till you are a bit older, or get someone who knows what they are doing to help you. There is plenty of information on this in the Cable and faceplate forum if you take the trouble to read through it.

      BTW It is bad manners to hijack someone else's thread. You should have asked this in your own very long thread

      I'm connected (wired) direct to the test socket, these are the results -

      Any further suggestions?

      Think its my BT line or Sky?

      As was said back in post #12, you've been capped at that speed so Sky has to be your first call.

      Why you've been capped I can't say. Looking at your test socket results it would appear that the noise margin is better so there probably is some noise from your home wiring - though as the test and normal stats were taken some time apart, I can't say that for sure.

      Then there's the issue of your odd upstream noise margin. That may be symptomatic of a line problem, an exchange equipment problem or just down to something Sky have done when they capped you.
