      interleaved delay/depth

hi im currently on a interleaved depth of 8 which gives me pings to bbc.co.uk of 23ms , does interleaved depth cause the sync rate to decrease at all ?

A low delay/depth will give a slight increase in sync compared to the "normal" interleave settings.

If that's your true attenuation then I'm surprised that you aren't connecting closer to 16meg with a higher noise margin. However, your connection is fine.

I don't know anything about the Speedtouch so can't comment.

      Re: interleaved delay/depth

His downstream attenuation is 31.0dB (note that all the stats are back-to-front compared with the Netgear router) so I think he's doing quite well really.

      Re: interleaved delay/depth

      Yep - looking good.

31db should support 16meg on a good line. Switching to the Netgear your 31.5db attenuation (different routers will often give slightly different results) is giving close to 16meg with a reasonable noise margin.

Why are you using the Speedtouch? Does it have features you need? Or were you having problems with the Netgear?
