      No Broadband

      Hi all,

I'm new in here and just thought I'd see if there is anyone who may be able to giver me some advice.

We have moved out into the country and unfortunately we cannot get an ADSAL signal on our BT line . We have had an enginieer out and he told us that although the exchange is only 5miles away, there is actually 11km of copper between us and the exchange!

He did suggest that Sky may be able to help as the ADSL siganal may be stronger to give us at least a useable service (256/512Kb/s).

If anyone has any opinions or ideas I would be very grateful.

      JB

ADSL doesn't work like that. If you could just "turn up the power" then why wouldn't all ISPs do that?

I'm afraid that if your line is 11km long then that is considerably in excess of what ADSL can handle. If BT can't offer you ADSL then I don't think anyone can.
