      noise margin

      my basic stats

      Router Statistics

      System Up Time: 4:58:58

      Connection Speed 5632 kbps 768 kbps
      Line Attenuation 43.0 db 26.0 db
      Noise Margin 4.8 db 14.0 db

      noise margin low how do i increase this and make it stay high

      are these stats taken from the test socket (to rule out wiring issues in your house) ?

      I was just looking through your other posts and noted you do not have a new style master socket (with test socket inside) ?
      not sure if you have had a look the cabling and faceplate threads (look at where it talks about the ring wire)

      only other thing to do is to reboot at a noisy part of the night (around tea time)

      all i want is a robust connection without dropouts
      with bt my previous supplier no problems at all, nearly 8 years

      Are you using the new router you were sent? Have you disconnected the ring wire as advised?
