What services does SKY broadband supply

I'm considering joining SKY broadband and quiting from Plusnet. Problem is that I'm uncertain what internet service SKY broadband will supply. Does SKY have a website which clearly spells out what they provide. In particular I am concerned that SKY seems to want to operate only webmail but have provided outgoing smtp only reluctantly and with no support. I don't want to use webmail at all. Also I would like to have a static IP address. Is webspace provided? I'm especially concerned that SKY don't seem to have a website which clearly states what is provided. Its essential to know what I'm letting myself in for if I join, otherwise I'm inclined to stay with Plusnet.

      Good move

Plenty of support on here if you need it for that

Also I would like to have a static IP address.
      Not on SKy

      Nope

Put it this way, i don't think you could be any worse off and you would be saving money, no traffic management, yes their support appears to be pants at the moment, tbh though no where near as bad as Plusnet's

I was an ex Plusnet customer of 6 years and don't regret whatsoever changing to F2S

      Welcome btw

      Welcome to the site Ray

As NewsreadeR has answered your questions I will just add this, if you have a look in the email section there are a few suggestions on alternatives or get yourself a cheap hosting package as depending on the package you go for with SkyBB you will be saving a lot of money so it will pay for itself. Even though there is no static IP as long as you don't turn the router off your IP will stay the same mine hasn't changed sine I was connected on Tuesday.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
