      Hi to all

Ive now been with sky approx 6 month and was getting speeds of around 8meg (Thats what im on) so was fantastic but recently my speeds have dropped to around 3.5meg.

Also my line keeps dropping and the wirless connection between my laptop drops occasional aswell.

Have i been capped and is my router on its way out (little white netgear)

My stats, any info would be great

      Re: Connection speed much slower

no you've not been capped....also, the 15.5 attenuation is a known bug - might be worth resetting the router to get real reading.

are you running off an extention? if so, try not to as the current error build up is stifling the connection...

that is one horible looking set of stats

looks like some part of your home wiring has gone a bit pete tong (could be a BT fault, but most times will be internal)
you will need to do a comparison test from your test socket if you have one (behind the face plate of the master socket, should have a split across the front)

      Re: Connection speed much slower

SNR has gone up, as has speed so already looking better - best call Sky and hopefully get CST (tier 2/3) on the phone and they can adjust in real time and hopefully get a decent speed!

      Re: Connection speed much slower

the first call to tech support goes to tier 1 - who then pass the case to tier 2 or 3 depending on the issue and if they can't solve it. However, tier 2 and 3 merged this week so they're now called CST (Customer Solutions Team)

      Re: Connection speed much slower

My Stats this morning, i reset router and the attenuation has now increased to 43, obviously i must have had problems through the extension lead i was using. Im now direct into bt socket and awaiting a new face plate.

Ill ring CST at sky and see if the can adjust it back to the 8meg i was getting beforehand.

      Re: Connection speed much slower

the attenuation figure of 15.5 is a router bug (sometimes shows this, but does not change anything about your connection) the figure you now show will be the correct one.

stats do look nice & healthy (if only for the short time up)

To be honest, if you are on MID with an Attenuation of 43, I don't think you will see a download speed of 8MB. What you have now, about 5mb, will be your limit. If you got 8MB previously, either something drastic has happened to your line to increase the attenuation or you were accidentally put on ADSL2+ and this has now been changed.
