      Idle Router

Hi people, i hope someone can help me.

Ive been with Sky for 3 days now and all is working fine, email, browsing, wireless etc.

One problem i am finding is the router not connecting to the internet after its been idle for a few hours. I have to restart it to get connected.

Has anyone experienced this before and know a solution? Thanks

      Re: Idle Router

What router do you have, the old one (white) or the new one (black/grey)?

The router should not disconnect from the network, no matter how long it is idle. Are you sure it is not your adapter turning itself off?

      Re: Idle Router

      Hi, thanks for replying

Its the white router. Ive actually had it since June but thats a different story.

Its not the network that is being disconnected, that is fine. Its just the router will not connected to the internet after its been idle for a few hours.

All the lights are solid green and i can connect to the Router Config page which all looks ok but i cant pull up any web pages until i reboot the router

I suppose there's a chance it's a UPnP problem. Try disabling it and then reboot the router.

      Thanks Saturday

I will disable that tonight when I get home.

Its a really annoying problem, once the router is rebooted everything is fine. Im getting terrific speeds atm
