Angry mad connectivity problem. DNS poss.

Ok, Got sky BB, got the kit installed and set up etc. and trying out the wireless access.

I have 3 machines. 1 laptop (xp) for work that connects fine with no issues and has a fast page loading time. 1 laptop (xp) for home use that won't pull up web pages and the new vista install on the desktop that does the same.

The failing machines seem to connect and then sit "Waiting for <website address>" with a blank page being shown. Games such as Eve-online are fine from the laptop but fail from the desktop. I did manage to get the main machine working (and the laptop) by adding in the DNS details from the router status page directly into the DNS settings for TCP/IP v4 in the adapter config. This seems to have now failed as the dns servers appear to have changed overnight.

Any clues? I am bemused as to why one laptop is working fine and the others (with to be honest the same settings) are both failing identically. The Vista install is a clean setup with no baggage from the previous network and won't fire up...

      Grr.

      I need help,

      Ta,

      K.

      Do a search for tcpoptimiser.
Download the program and run it on the failing machines.
      Then see how things go.
      Mac.

You could try using an OPENDNS. Full details on how to do it are contained in the link.

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.
