      What Service am I on>

Is there any way of telling which service I am subscribed to, apart from asking Sky that is. I am paying for 16Mb Sky max and would like to confirm that is what I am (should be) getting. My stats seem to suggest that I should be able to get an actual download speed of better than 12Mb/sec but don't seem to be able to get better than 7.5.

      Hi

      Max(Kbps): 9408 1248
      Rate (Kbps): 8096 768

The 768 means you are on MAX at up to 16mb

The 8096 says you are connected at 8mb

      ADSL2+ Speed Test
We estimate your line is capable of between 14mb to 16mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service.

      SkyUser - ADSL2 Line Speed Checker - upto 24mb

Try your test socket in the master and see if it goes higher?

That's right. Your ADSL mode has been set to G.DMT and capped at 8096kbps. It won't go higher in the master/test socket (because of the cap).

Your line attenuation is quite low though (good) so normally I'd have expected you to be on ADSL2+ and your router to sync at close to 16meg. However, considering your low attenuation and capped sync, your noise margin should be much higher. It isn't and this points to you having a lot of line noise (errors in your stats also point to this).

Sort your line noise out (see the cabling and faceplate help forum) and then call Sky to get uncapped. You should then get close to the maximum possible from Sky.
