Leaving Sky BB - how long before they stop my service?

      Hi,

I'm moving house in the middle of December. I've had no problems with Sky BB at all but the house I'm moving to only has Connect so I'm going to move to another provider.

I've been with Sky BB for over 12 months so I understand I only need to give 30 days notice. My question is, if I give them 30 days notice, will they cut me off straight away or will they wait until the end of the 30 day period? Ideally I would like to keep my BB right up until my move date.

      Thanks in advance.

They should cut you off on 30 days. Although perhaps it will go off at the end of your billing cycle?

It depends, if you book a moving home, it automatically cancels the broadband in around 8 days. If you're on base, I'd call them to arrange the moving home around 7 days before you move (its not going to cost you anymore) and it'll be cut off between 5 and 8 days after you call.

Thanks fo that. I am on base so I'll hold off cancelling broadband until I'm ready to tell tham I'm moving. I want to take Sky TV with me but not broadband.

Damn, wish I'd know, or at least been informed by Sky that this was the case. I gave Sky 3 weeks notice of moving, seeing as our prior move they screwed up the dates with 2 weeks notice. 7 days after telling them (2 weeks before moving) we now have no broadband. Ceased without notice!
