There's no excuse for them not calling you if they said they would but what is it you expect them to do? If, as it seems, you have a problem with your BT wiring, that's nothing to do with Sky.

You could always email James Murdoch (the email address is obvious), but I doubt he'll be willing to drive over to your house, fix your telephone extension wiring and then get tier 3 support to lift the cap on your broadband connection.

You see at the moment, you don't seem particularly keen to do anything to try and get the best out of your broadband connection, other than call people idiots. As a rule, that isn't a good strategy for fixing things.

      Re: Is this speed right

Yup, you've been capped. This is what happens if you contact tier 3 and complain about your connection - they will reduce the line speed (cap it) until you have a connection that is free of errors.

If you want a faster connection, you need to improve your extension wiring in your house. You got nearly 5Mbit/sec when you plugged your router into the test socket - that proves the problem is down to your extension wiring. Fix that, and then contact tier 3 again, tell them that you've fixed the problems with your extension wiring, and they'll be happy to lift the cap.
