Your attenuation would indicate that you are getting on for 4km from your exchange so you won't achieve a much higher download speed than you are getting now. You get the higher upload and unlimited profile with Max and from what I have heard G.DMT is more stable than ADSL2+ so I would recommend you stay as you are.

Re: upgraded from mid to max tonight

Why did you move to max, was it for the increased upload ? If not then I'm afraid your wasting your money as with an attenuation of 51 the best possible sync speed you could get is 6500. You could get the same with mid. It annoys me that sky dont explain this they just move you and take the money.

Re: upgraded from mid to max tonight

i changed over because in the 20 days ive had sky i have downloaded/streamed about 80bg of stuff and the 40 caps no use for me

if im better on the gdmt then i cant grumble

only noticed cause i tryed connecting on adsl2+ mode and it wouldnt connect

i can get 6mb max if i drop my snr right down day time its fine but at night 4.5 is best as it doesnt disconnect

thanks for the great replys and superfast response

ah the dl limit, i'd forgotten about that, thanks for the reminder, been on max for that long now that limits have faded from my memory - or is it the friday nite beers - lol
you are probably best staying on gdmt - post the stats again after 24hrs which should show if youve many errors that may be dragging the snr down.
