    Help With Poor Broadband

      Angry Help With Poor Broadband

      hi im new here need help!
      i just joined sky last month oe so was online for a week then my routor burned out. waited a week for a new routor. on that routor my speed's was around 6mg and reached 10mg at times. now with the new routor the highest i reached was about 8mg and i cant seem to go higher th 3mg! its taking **** now as right now im on 1.5mg. i should be getting upto 16mg but i struggle to hit 3mg. last week it was so poor it didnt reach 1mg. im not phoning sky becouse of the service! i thought AOL was bad. this just takes the mickey
      pls help i dont have a clue with things so any tips pls explain in full step by step.

      have a look for the mognuts utilty, in the first link for detailed stats

      looking at what you have posted, are you sure you are on max (looks like connect) could you confirm

      yea im sure im on MAX.

      what makes you say that??

      i cant get my stats as i go to open it and it said its corrupt. im fed up with it all i want is a decent isp but i cant. it said to to go back to the page to get it so i did and it said open or save i done save and went to open it and it wouldnt so i tried opena dn it wouldnt. im really ****** off now nothing is goin the way i want it too

      sorry but you aint on max your router stats confirm that.

      should of said you are not on adsl2+ (either way you are not on max)

      WHAT!!

      what am i on please mate?? i phoned sky and ordered sky max the 16 meg.
      have they put me on something else or have they ****ed up? i thought i was on max. so that could be why im not getting a decent service and unable to view certain sites then?

      from your upload speed (448) you would seem to be on connect which is a re-branded BT sevice, do you have any paperwork stating which package you are on ( i think you can also find this info on you My sky page)

      i dont know what your on (others will know) sky has possibly messed up and not put you on to adsl2+ (your not the only one this has happened too, ive been there myself), try ringing them and explain that you are not on adsl2+ (you may have to fight with them to get put on to adsl2+) im not really a expert but your router stats look like your line should and could handle a adsl2+ conection, only tier 3 at sky broadband can help you.
