Some ISP's like Orange have a history of doing this and then pretending its someone's else's responsibility. Its not. But sadly Ofcom just sit back and allow this sharp practice to happen.

They charged me for an extra month after I left - which had me fuming.

So now whenever I am activated with a new ISP I ring the old ISP up asap and get confirmation in writing that my account is up to date and that I won't be charged again.

I agree its always better to make the effort yourself as it saves a lot of grief later

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
