      Re: sky v ukonline

If you are connected right now and are browsing the web etc using your ukonline account details then you can't be active with sky yet.
      Simple as that.
Once you find that your current router stops working then I would say plug the Sky router in as chances are that is when the changeover has/will happened.
      Mac.

Interesting, as far as I was aware it was impossible to migrate you from UK Online to Sky!

Go here and check what it says. Remember you are checking the Landline, not Broadband.

      Re: sky v ukonline

ianglif, Are UK Online still billing you?

the thing is my ukonline account is still active
By that do you mean, You actual account, e.g, Account Number ect - end? Or just that you can currently use the UK Online router to connect?

Have you plugged in the Sky Router? Does it connect/sync? If so, What speeds is it connecting at, If the upload is higher then what Sky offers then that is another sign?

If you are able to find out your current IP address, What do you get when you enter it into a site like (IP-Address) does it say UKOnline or BSkyB under the Hostname bit?

      Re: sky v ukonline

Sky & UKonline use the same equipment in the exchange and the same backhaul. As you're on the LLU service, you could be with Sky/UKonline/F2Surf/Easynet and your router will work when you plug it in.

Connect up your Sky box and you should be fine, then you just need to be sure UKOnline stop billing you.

Surely if the line has been enabled for Sky, it would not connect without the Sky username and password? Or are you saying that a Sky line will accept UKonline/F2Surf/Easynet, usernames and passwords, somehow I doubt that.
