Is this a normal connect order process?

      Hmm, is this normal.

Migrating from Pipex with MAC code:

Monday 11th Sept - ordered Sky BB Connect [17 pm] as I am not in an area that offers any other Sky service as yet. Had to pay 40 activation fee + 20for USB adapter. They said when the full service is activated on my local exchange [Jan07] I would automatically get migrated across. If thats so & I pay 10 PM for Max surely I have been charged 40 activation fee for 3 months! Seems odd when they advertise it as 0.

Wednesday 13th Sept - USB adapter arrived, no router or letters.

Looking at other posts, people have already received their letters stating activation date etc but I have nothing as yet [Thurs 14th Sept] even though Sky claimed 5 days to activation!

Bar spending the day on the phone to Sky, is there a way I can tell how my order is proceeding [or not] and how are people able to forecast what speeds they should be getting, before the service is activated? I know connect says up to 8MB but what could I realistically expect. I am on the Peterborough Exchange.

      Many thanx & great forum.

      G

      Welcome to the site Gary

Yes there is a way you can go the the BT Order tracking you may need to register first though.
      Ray

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Have registered there but I have no account number as yet as I have no details from Sky. Am I missing something?
      Cheers
