      sky disconect

      hi there ive been on sky broadband for about a week now and today around 3pm my internet would not work ....... ok so i ran a test on msn and it said that there was a dns error then i tryes my xbox 360 also failed on the dns stage

      called sky they wouldnet give me any advice unless my old dear would speak to them. so i left for work just came back and now its working.....strange anyone kno why?????

      First thing to try if it wont work is reboot the router. This will sort it out more often than not.

      i did try this i even tryed booting it up as factory settins

      You could always try OpenDNS, search this site for it. Takes no more than 5 minutes to set up and takes Sky's DNS server's out of the equation.

      thanks i would love to do this but when i folloew the instructions i cant see where to change the dns adress in the router menu

      Well, as our good friend James67 would say...

      In windows XP
      1. Start the telnet daemon using the Mognuts utility page
      2. Telnet to the router by doing Start->Run then typing telnet 192.168.0.1
      3. Type the following commands
        • nvram set wan_dns1=208.67.222.222
        • nvram set wan_dns2=208.67.220.220
        • nvram set wan_fix_dns=1
      4. Reboot the router
