DoS attacks listed once on Live Messenger

I'm not sure if this is the place to be posting this but hey.

Whenever my sister connects to Live Messenger a bunch of DoS attacks appear...unfortunately I have cleared the log so I cannot provide anything but it is really annoying.

I have reinstalled messenger several times but to no avail. Any ideas?

The pc downstairs has no malware, spyware or virus on it....

The IP is coming from an external source.

It could be someone else's machine which has the malware on it, someone in your sister's contact list. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless she is experiencing a genuine attack, i.e., a sustained attempt to prevent her accessing some kind of service, rather than just a few casual attempts to gain access.

I've got an offsite server with a public IP address sitting in a datacentre. It's IP filter detects an attempt to hack into the system about once every 20 seconds. The Network Address Translation (NAT) system in the router protects broadband users from the great majority of that onslaught.

This whole stupid DoS issue is getting on my nerves now and i have had enough. I have stopped DoS and Port Scans from appearing in the log. Damn things are doing my head in, best off ignored and pretend it doesn't exist.

Oh well, the internet is a vast and mysterious place where predators roam...cheers for your input though.
