Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

I have only had a couple of problems logging insince I went active. It really is bizzare how it affects some and not others.

I posted the theory on why it allows some on but not others cant remember in what post but its possibly due to them not recieving the initial router info to there system which says you are connected and some other details, this then activates your portal password etc.

thats the theory and seems to be the case with what we have seen

Certainly seemed to be the case with me. I thought my password was wrong at first and after a struggle I managed to change it (kept asking the answer to my secret question but wouldn't tell me the question!). Then it just kept kicking me back to the login page. As soon as I had the line activated I was able to log in to the portal and read my T&C email.
Connection Speed 13753 kbps Down - 766 kbps Up
Line Attenuation 33.5 db Down - 18.7 db Up
Noise Margin 7.0 db Down - 11.6 db Up

Just Contacted Sky - Portal News

As most here i am really happy with my Skybb connection and speed etc. Just having no luck with the Portal. After Speed reading some of the stuff on here its seems that some can but most cant.
I was wondering if i'd made a ****-up and was putting the wrong details in each box.so....
i just called Sky and finally - (this is the 9th time i have called about hte portal, but got the same 'exchange is down' story) - got a very helpful guy who explained that its been buggered from 28th Aug and e.t.a is 4 weeks from then !! We'll see.
He said that sky did not realise that people would be unhappy with a 'hotmail type setup' (not sure to the tech term) and so they were now in the process of delivering a pop / smtp account service. So.....
i guess we just have to wait and see.
On a better point he did tell me he would send me a Tenna to cover me lack of service and hassle ! I actually got activated on the 29th.

INcase your wondering i have tried to setup through office (thanks ratti3 - i followed your help-aid to the full) but it didnt want to know about me user n and password. I mentioned this to the sky guy he told me it wont work goes of the ongoing upgrades etc.

I can get in with no probs other than it's slow to load the pages. Once you are in you will find it's a bit crap so I doubt if you would want to visit it again. I have set the BT portal back up as my home page it's far better. I can keep it open as long as I dial in once every 90 days.
