Unhappy 3 weeks on - no letter, no router

Is there a huge backlog at the minute for the sky broadband? It's now 3 weeks since I ordered, my tv and phone package have both been installed/activated, but I've still had no word about my broadband, and now with the postal strike it's going to be at least another week before I get anything. Anyone heard anything?

      Hi

3 weeks is an awful long time.

Try this link: Order tracking - Sky User Wiki

You will have to register and check to see if there are any recent orders on there. Short of ringing Sky up to check, it's looking like something has gone wrong.

Let us know any orders on your BT account (using that link) and make sure you do not give any personal data out, if you copy and paste the orders.

Also - the router is delivered by courier, cant remember which one, so that should not be effected by the strike. The letter however will be, but you will be able to get online you just wont be able to access your email until the pword for that arrives.
      Hope it arrives soon.

I can't check on the bt site because I don't have the account number, I haven't received a paper bill from bt yet, looks like I'm going to have to ring Sky, any idea what the best number to ring is?

      Try these numbers: 08705 515515 or 08700 248933

Re: 3 weeks on - no letter, no router

I've just had the exact same problem as you, turned out my order was rejected by BT for some unknown reason. I rang 08705 515515 and selected option 1, 1, 3 I think. It was "check status of order",
had to put order through again last night, rang 10 minutes ago and it's all gone through fine now, they also told me my activation date will be 15 October.

      Hope this helps you!

Re: 3 weeks on - no letter, no router

Just rang Sky, turns out my order was rejected by bt as they have the wrong postcode for my address. Slightly annoying.
      Thanks for the help.

Apparently it's going to take "a couple of days" to update my postcode on BT's system. Joke.

Re: 3 weeks on - no letter, no router

That's because the system to be updated is a massive database and the entry will have to be checked and verified. It most likely is a third party database that BT use as part of their checker system so it may not even be their fault to be honest.

Re: 3 weeks on - no letter, no router

It is hard to understand why Sky could not make a simple phone call to explain the problem. If the OP had not pursued it he could have been waiting forever more for his connection. Another black mark for Sky CS
