Why are sky messing me about??

Got my broadband code today. Spend nearly 2hours in a que. Gave my details to the advisor who then told me that I could only have the 'connect' package.
i asked him why I had received the e-mail and why the sky website lists all 3 packages available when I entered my landline number. He didn't answer.
I then called back and went through to the department that deals with queries. I asked them to check my phone number. They confimed that i could chose 'base' 'mid' or 'max' . They suggested that i phone back and give my details again. After spending another hour in a que I gave my details again only to be told that I could only have the 'connect' package. I told the advisor that I had just spoken to the dept. that deals registration queries and they had told me that all 3 were available and that I was in a sky broadband area. He just said that they had told me the wrong information.

How can the website and one of the departments tell me that I can get 'max' package then when I phone up to order they tell me I can't have it?

      Whats goin on........any ideas?

      Thanx Guyz

that is indeed a strange one.

If you goto sam knows website do the postcode and telephone search and if easynet pops up as one of the options for your exchange then you *should* be able to get services as most of them are active.

if however it does not come up with easynet then you *may* be only to get connect, this still does not explain why they cant tell you what you should get.

Thats all I can think off at the moment sorry.

No problem m8, just out of curiosity have you filled in the reg form online?
if so did it tell you that you could have base mid max etc

Edit.. silly me just noticed you checked the website and it says mid max etc, I would deffinitly ask them to do a check and if it says you cant then perhaps tell them to pass on there may be a error on the reg form.
      hopefully it wont though.

      Welcome to the site Glowbalistic

I had a very similar problem and was told the same thing so if phoned Sky's main customer service number to find out what was going on as I had an email telling me I could have the Max package I was then transfered to someone who took my details agreed with me and placed my order for me since then everything work to plan until BT messed up may phone line for 4 days all sorted out in the end on Tuesday.

So start and finish a bit of a mess but everything else went to plan, so maybe worth you going down the same route.

Good luck and hope you get sorted sooner rather than later.

Yep they told me the same thing a few times something about when they input your details they get buttons show up on the screen that tell them what packages are available to you.
