well, im assuming your line is currently setup at 8MB/768KB down/upstream on gdmt (usually as ur line prob can't handle ADSL2+). what does ur router sync up at?

if it's not 8MB (8096) they'll prob reduce the line speed to say 7MB (7168) to keep errors forming and keep the snr to a level high enuff to not drop out...this is capping

Just one further point, are you plugged into the Test socket, this is behind the face plate of the Master. If you are not, you could still be picking up interference from your extensions.

Re: Intermittent connections and disconnects on Broadband Max Plan

I must just used to the 50ms evening pings I used get from my old house

Yes it's on G.DMT.. currently at 7840 kbps after moving the router. So during the evenings I'd probably be looking at under 7mbit as a guess. If I continue to experience problems is it worth keeping it at a lower speed?

I'm using the test socket, I haven't tried it in the outer socket. I saw somewhere a link to a replacement socket with both a telephone and ADSL socket built in.. Would you rate this if the outer socket gives problems/reduced speed? Obviously I'd rather not have the faceplate permanently removed

      Thanks

i have (as a lot of users do) an ADSL Nation - XTE-2005 - Filtered Master Faceplate from ADSLNation and i've then run ethernet around the house. Of course, this isn't ideal (the ethernet i mean) but it keeps the connection rock solid

Talking Re: Intermittent connections and disconnects on Broadband Max Plan

As much as I'd love to see RJ45 sockets in every room I'm just too lazy for that It seems at least a 54mbit wireless card is required however. But I will definitely be ordering an ADSL Nation Faceplate!

Thanks a lot for your help guys!

You may be disappointed with the 834gt's wireless performance, many are.

Re: Intermittent connections and disconnects on Broadband Max Plan

At least I can fall back to my DG834G if the GT hates me, which it might. Just ordered my Faceplate. Not very 2007 of them to not accept Visa Electron, but luckily everyone loves a credit card. Now on to eBay for my wireless card!
