      Cancelling Sky Broadband

Not sure if its of use to anyone, but if you joined sky broadband before the 24th of August, you can cancel your broadband contract with no issues due to a change in the terms and conditions to your broadband. Incontract turnaround (retentions) have been briefed on this and should offer no resistance.

      Hmm are you sure?

I have just emailed sky requesting my broadband be terminated without penalty to myself due to a recent change in the terms and conditions of that said contract!

      Re: Cancelling Sky Broadband

Can somebody explain why the change in the terms and conditions result in being able to cancel the contract without penalty.
The reason I ask is that I wish to downgrade from Max to Mid and I have been told that, under the terms of the contract, they will not do it until next May .
Will a requested downgrade fall into the same category?

      No I will not!

I am going with Virgin Media for cable broadband, (Virgin Media have their faults, trust me i know i have been there before!) I put my sky broadband troubles down to my BT line! However I still blame sky for the problems as they should not have installed it on my line if my line is too poor to handle it!

And if they do put it on then they should realise the problem and remove it instead of passing the buck!

I guess that's what you get when you try to save a few pounds! Trouble is you don't get any better a service these days in the UK when you pay full whack!

Possibly, give them a call and speak to retentions - threaten to cancel if neccesary. It is something to do with google email but I'm not aware what exactly it is.
