Connection dropping frequently (new customer) Stats included

      Hi there,

I have read many threads here about this problem, but it seemed easiest to start a new thread with my stats in so it would be easier for someone to diagnose the problem.

My connection seemed to be just fine last night (it dropped once in about 4 hours). But this morning it has dropped around 10 times in only one hour.

I am connecting wirelessly and the computer is in the same room as the router, with the telephone connected to the main socket of the house.

      Have you tried disabling UnPn?

Yeah, disable UPnP - try that as a first step. The stats like just fine, so the router isn't losing communication with the exchange, which means it must be some issue affecting the way your PC communicates with the router.

If you're in the same room as the router, have you considered getting a long Ethernet cable to connect your PC to the router? The router comes with a yellow Ethernet cable but it's a bit too short to be of practical use to most people, but longer Ethernet cables are easily obtainable - and in less scary colours too.

Go for the wired solution. I too had router in same room as PC, connected to master socket and using wireless. I kept getting dropped connections, virtually all the time I tried downloading stuff. Switched it to wired LAN and all great, uPNP is ON.

Oh yeah good point, it could just be wireless being useless, try wired and see what happens.
