It's interesting that web sites not responding seems to be a common problem on Sky Broadband between 10pm - 11pm - or at least it has been for me in 2 out of the last 4 days since I've got a reliable setup. Nothing to do with the router settings at all.

I must say I have never had an issue with problems like that, am I not sure if it has anything do with the fact that I use Outpost Firewall built in DNS Cache and have the Windows one disabled.

Maybe running your own DNS sever would make life easier have a look here TreeWalk DNS

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Okay, will do. Of course, I'd forgotten that I'm using OpenDNS for my DNS servers, so maybe it's an issue with that! I'll have to try and monitor the situation and see what happens.

      Thanks,

I have swapped back & forth a few times over the weekend with the alternative modem. With 108Auto enabled and upnp turned off it lasts longer before dying, but still gets there in the end No issues with the alternative . Discussing this with a colleague at work on ukonline with the same DG834GT it appears he has the same issue but not as frequently as some of us...

I have a ticket open with tier3 from Friday evening for a replacement , still waiting on a callback......

My 'low' issue with the wireless signal strength upstairs was resolved by completely removing the hardware from XP and reinstalling from the original CD. I now get 50%-60% signal strength from the Sky box on my Linksys PCI 802.11b card.

Must remember to call Sky and tell them I don't need a replacement router/Modem after all!
