Re: Intermittent connection in master socket faceplate and test socket

Thank you very much to everyone that has replied and helped with my problem. After repositioning the microfilter in the downstairs master socket, so that it was inserted directly into the socket, and then the pluggin extensions, Sky TV and phone were positioned after the microfilter, I have had no problems.

I have stayed connected to the internet without any intermittencies for over 24 hours now, which is superb considering I got intermittencies every 20-30 minutes beforehand.

I have a few questions still though. Is it alright if I keep my internet connected through the "test style socket" shown in photo number 3 a few posts back? Or should I replace the faceplace shown in photo number 4, and run through that instead?

Also, now that I've been connected to the internet for over 24 hours, could someone please look at my stats to see how my connection is? I'll post them up when someone responds. Thank you.

Re: Intermittent connection in master socket faceplate and test socket

Well, since there are no extensions wired into the upstairs faceplate, it shouldn't make any real difference whether you leave it as it is, or you put the faceplate back. I'd put the faceplate back for neatness, but it's up to you.

Anyway, glad your connection's sorted now. Feel free to post your stats, and I'll have a look at them.

Thanks again for the reply and for offering to look at my stats.

I think I'll leave the faceplate off seeing as the connection is good now.

      Here are the stats:

      I'm on Sky Mid - 8Mb 40GB download limit.
I am 510 metres away from the exchange.
