      windows mail - login query

      hi all
      using vista home premium:
      this has only started to happen in the last day or so.
      if i try to access my emails thru windows mail a login box asking for my sky username and password comes up. this is really annoying me. it only seems to occur on initial start up, the rest of the session is ok. once i put in my details it is fine - but i don't want it at all as i am the only one to use this computer.
      how do i stop this happening please??

      Have you ticked the remember password box in Tools>Accounts>Email Address Properties? Have you used program to clear MRU lists/passwords?

      In Windows Mail, go to Tools->Accounts. Click on the name of your mail account and then click on Properties. Select the Servers tab, enter your username and password into the appropriate boxes and make sure that the Remember Password tickbox is ticked.

      Then in the Outgoing Server section of the same page, click on Settings, enter your username and password there too and again make sure that the Remember Password tickbox is ticked.

      That should save you having to type in the username and password everytime.

      Sorry, I don't really know this program, but it is the type of program which could make these changes. Look carefully through the options and see if anything sticks out. As I said, I don't really know the program, does it have a 'back up' of what it removes? If it does, maybe you could re-instate it and see if the problem goes. Some other member may have experience of it and give you better advice.
