      the test socket disconnects all sockets so unless u run a plug in one you can't have any more live points in ur house...

      If the extension is plugged in to the phone side of the filter, it will have little or no effect on your connection. In fact, if you have no hardwired extensions, using the Test socket be little different from the Master socket. If there is, the faceplate is faulty.

      I have managed to obtain some results with out the phone extension in now. If someone could interpret them for me that would be great, many thanks!

      I have been having these drops oouts whilst connected wirelessly, but I ddi try for a while with the ethernet cable connected but it still dropped randomly.

      i am still using the test socket also.

      I think this should tell you that the extension has been your problem!! If you are still experiencing drop outs these are probably just wireless related between the PC and router and not internet drop outs.

      I would advise you to purchase and fit an ADSL Filtered Face plate. This will isolate your extensions from the ADSL line and will solve your problem.
