I am just seething with anger now

I've just called the Provisioning department and have been told that my router has still not been sent out. My line has been active since last Wednesday, and so I've been without broadband access since then. "It should be dispatched within the next 5 days," I was told.

I am just sick of it. Just absolutely sick, sick, sick of it.

Re: I am just seething with anger now

More calls to Sky and the impression I'm getting now is that no router has ever been ordered for me. This is just unbelievable. "We can order a router for you now..." is what they're telling me.

If I cancel, chances are I'll get back online with my old ISP before a router ever turns up from Sky, but I worry that I'll end up putting my line into one of those weird states Sky like to put them in and I won't be able to get broadband on my phone line for several months.

This whole situation is just beyond belief. I remember reading all the warnings about how Sky's customer support is pretty lousy, but I thought to myself, "well, I'm pretty clued up on this internet lark, if there is a problem I'm sure I'll be able to sort it out myself." I didn't consider this kind of problem.

And getting through to Sky today seems pretty hit-and-miss. Sometimes it just seems to "ring out" - you go through the menu system and instead of getting "on hold" music, you hear a strange ring tone and no-one answers.

Really, if this doesn't tell me I made a terrible mistake joining this joke of an outfit, I don't know what would.

I think though that when you finally get this sorted you will be fine. I dont think they start charging you until you first connect so at least your not paying for it without having it which was the problem i had with BT.

In fact I've been told explicitly that they charge from the activation date, although they will give a refund if you ask for it.
