      Hi,
I'm on sky max and getting between 2500-3500kbs.
Distance to local exchange is around 1.4 mile as the crow flys.
      My stats are as follows.

Re: Is this the best speed i can get ?

Your line attenuation is very high for someone who lives quite close to their exchange, although BT cables can follow quite weird routes sometime. You're also losing sync quite a lot (the LOS values - in the last 15 minutes, you lost sync 14 times).

Using the test socket improved your SNR margin, but I think most of your problems are between your house and the exchange. Getting BT to look into this kind of thing is notoriously difficult. Say the word "broadband" to them and they don't want to know, they'll only do anything if your voice connection has problems.

Re: Is this the best speed i can get ?

Although your straight line dist to the exchange is 1.4km, your att of 55 relates to an actual line length of 4km which gives a best potential sync of 4500kps.
In your second set of stats taken from the test socket you have a better SNR and your line errors are significantly better. This suggests a problem with your internal wiring and having all those errors will make your connection perform worse. I dont think you can expect much better as the max ( potential ) is not much higher than your rate (actual).
You may be capped but dont know enough about that to tell from your stats - maybe someone else could comment on that
If you dont need the upload then maybe mid would be the better option for you and save you a fiver.
      cheers
      dave
