      Sky's DNS addresses

      Hi there.

i have ordered Sky mid and received a letter with my username and password and that I shall be activated tomorrow. As of yet my router has not arrived.

I currently have a D-link router that i used with my previous ISP. If my Netgear router doesnt arrive today or tomorrow I would like to setup the Dlink one.

The only things I will need to know are the IP addresses of the DNS servers Sky use, and also what type of connection it is(gdmt? vci? etc) Could someone please let me know?

      Thanks in advance.

Sorry to disappoint you but you don't have the correct username/password. The one they sent is for accessing your BB account/email and not the one needed for BB router access. This is locked and hidden in the router they supply to to you. Whilst you can "unhide" it (with the current firmware), you need the router to be able to do this.

      Ok, thanks for that.

I thought it was a bit weird how I have been reading posts on this site since I ordered sky broadband, and seeing how you had to use the Sky equipment and then I got a letter with a username and password on. Should of read the letter more carefully!!

Thanks again. Great to see a good support site for all things Sky.

Don't blame yourself, Sky letters are well known to be worded very badly, it is a constant complaint on the forum.
