      Connection Keeps dropping

      Hi

My Father in Laws connection keeps dropping out.

We have made sure the UnPn thing is off, and we have installed the Mosywells Prog. However every morning we have to reboot both the Computer and the Router in order to get online.

I have the stats below from the Mosy App

      Any Ideas?

      Re: Connection Keeps dropping

      hi there,

does not say which package you are on ?

your problem would prob be with your line (if you are using an extention lead)

try in the test socket to rule out wiring problems first

      Re: Connection Keeps dropping

Your errors are very high (indicating a line problem) and despite your high attenuation it looks like you're on ADSL2+, though your line problems mean the router is only able to sync with ADSL2 (which isn't a Sky offered or supported ADSL mode).

First off get your line errors sorted. The cabling and faceplate help forum will give you the info. Next, I'd advise changing ADSL mode to G.DMT (use Mognuts) as this will give a better connection with your attenuation.

However, I doubt that's the full reason for your disconnections. If I've understood your post it sounds as though the connection goes off overnight? And it sounds like you leave the PC on too? If so then look for a power saving problem which is powereing off your network or wireless card when your PC is idle for a period. When it wakes up the connection isn't activating properly. Change the power saving settings to never power down the card.
