Its not a router problem, its because the internal network card within the PC runs at 10Mbps and not 100Mbps.

If its a seperate card, change it for a 100Mbps and away you go.

Thanks for contributions so far. My concern is that the number was green and has only recently gone amber. How do I check my network card? What am I looking for?

You can go to the Network Connections in the Control Panel and open the High speed LAN, You rate will be shown there.

To change the rate, go to the Device Manager, expand the Network adapters, double click you adapter and select Properties. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to 'Speed and Duplex'. Use the drop down box to set it to Auto or 100 mbps Full Duplex.

If this does not change your speed, the drivers are probably corrupted and should be reinstalled.

      Thanks for help Isitme
Rate in Network connections shows LAN is running at 100Mbps. Tried changing Speed and Duplex & reinstallation of drivers settings as suggested but no success.

Case closed!! Issue solved. Finally resolved to unplugging everything from back of computer and replugging everything. Green light has returned - suspect loose connection caused by the current Mrs Muppet fiddling with telephone wires - thanks for all help recieved.
