      Moving to sky!

      Hi all, appoligies if this is the wrong forum for this!

      I was just wondering if any one has any experience from moving to AOL to Sky, i called aol and was told my mac code will be emailed to me within 48 hours, i dont see why it couldn't just be read out over the phone is this normal or am i just never going to hear from them?

      Having the MAC emailed is much safer, there is less chance of mistakes. Too many user have had big problems caused solely by the wrong code being applied. Make sure when you give the code to Sky, that you read it exactly and get who ever is taking it to repeat it back to you, several times if necessary. Be especially careful of mixing up numbers and letters ie 1 or l, 0 or O, etc.

      yeah i got my MAC code from AOL but they did not email it to me in 48 hors so i went to Live help and they gave me the MAC code over a chat session maybe you should do that if u havent already recieved it!

      OFCOM guidelines give ISP's 5 days to provide your MAC.

      They could tell you over the phone if the CS agent has access to MAC generation systems such as OR Siebel or eCo but often that is left to Provisioning.

      Plus they'll be less likely to give your MAC on the call when you ask it as they'll put it through to a Turnaround agent to give you a call back.
