That sounds like a load of old cobblers to me, I guess they pick a random excuse out of the air. I have seen posts from loads of people on here that have had the same problem, it happened to me last year when I lost my internet access, it also happened to my brother and he lost his for not far short of a month due to Sky's failure to send out the router.

I would be happy if they just gave me the username and password.
I would then use my own router from the start. (cough)

won't happen as they're in the router firmware and not recorded on the system until first log in of said router....

Re: Concerned about losing ADSL access

Don't think you have anything to worry about. Plenty of time for them to get your activation etc right.

My letter dated August 1'st only arrived today with an activation date of tomorrow and no sign of any router.

I am tempted to cancel because of their incompetence and wait until my exchange goes ADSL2 early next year and stuff sky.

i don't think you should cancell just yet...im pretty sure your router will be sent to u like mine (hopefully) tomorw or monday latest. you will probs be without net connection for 4 days... thats a long time but comn man 4 days without net and u only pay 10 a month. it beats ALL other providers for value!!

Does this mean you are going on to Connect? If so, as I think I said earlier, the router will not be sent out until Sky receive confirmation from BT that your line has been activated with them. That means you will not receive it until 3-4 days after you line is connected to Sky.

No, I am going onto MAX.

Sky have enabled LLU at my exchange.

When I said my exchange goes ADSL2 early next year, I meant as standard.

Re: Concerned about losing ADSL access

Anyone got a direct to sky broadband department telephone number?

I will ring them again. Yesterday after ringing the number I used from sky's web site, I was passed around several departments until I got to the broadband department, even though I pressed correct number in menu for broadband enquiries.
