      Now I just wanna curl up and cry, all these happy people finally getting their routers and not me. I'm just left waiting for a callback, and past experience shows more often than not, the callback doesn't actually happen.

      Just to let you know its all good. Plugged in and away. Connection seems good. Dropped a couple of times to start with but all fine now.
      Haven't checked speed yet but seems pretty quick. Had full 8mb when i was with BT so should be good.

      callback from who may i ask? hope its not from tier 3 or any of tech support, as it ain't gonna happen!!

      Supposedly from someone more senior in Provisioning, although it never actually happened.

      Well this is interesting. I gave Sky a call on their corporate number to make a complaint. A very nice Welsh lady said she'd look into the problem and get back to me, which she duly did (always a reassuring thing when that happens).

      She's worked out what the problem is. My account is stuck in a "weird state" where some of the information on the account indicates that a router has been sent out, but other things indicate that it hasn't. The good news is she was able to identify which department is able to fix this, and she's asked them to do this and then trigger a request to dispatch a router.

      The bad news is that it now might be Thursday before the dispatch process is started, which means, because the process takes up to 5 days, it might not be until Wednesday next week that I finally get my router - a whole two weeks after they disconnected me from my previous provider.

      It's disappointing, but I do feel reassured that I've spoken to someone who's able and determined to resolve the problem to a satisfactory conclusion. I'm just crossing my fingers that this type of weird account state is quicker to resolve than the notorious "pre-active cancel" state.

      I rang up Sky Broadband today and they said the router was only dispatched today! I've been given a Parcelforce tracking number which currently says its been sorted in the main hub. Hopefully it will arrive in the next day or 2...

      Routers are sent by Parcelforce 24 so it'll be tommorow

      Just had another call from the lovely Welsh lady in Customer Relations. My account's been fixed up and a router dispatch request has been put in that should now actually result in a router being sent out! She's giving me another call on Tuesday evening to see if it's arrived by then, but she's assured me that it'll be with me by next Thursday at the very latest.

      Of couse, that'll be two weeks without broadband, but I do get the impression that finally they're on top of the problem and it's surprising how much better that makes me feel about the situation.

      hey got my router syncing at 15.3 and getting speeds of 1200kb/s really chuffed!
